Urn of Metamorphosis

‘‘Man, remember that you are dust and that you will return

to the dust’’.

This verse of Genesis was a guiding thread to us during the imagination of our project. We wanted to work on an object that would mark a change of state by creating a piece that is strong, from a semantic point of view as from a temporal point of view.

We chose the funerary urn, a subject which for us raised many remarks on the fire but also on the different customs over the centuries. The idea was to create a very simple object, which would give rise to a new ritual, but also that would allow the body to return to the earth, in the idea of the natural cycle.
